Sustainability
We're proud to be a part of the Green Circle Salon program, and believe wholeheartedly in its mission and importance. The Green Circle Salon program is a comprehensive recycling and sustainability initiative specifically designed for the salon industry. It addresses the significant environmental impact of salon waste by providing salons with the tools and resources needed to reduce, reuse, and recycle.
Participating in the Green Circle Salon program allows us to minimize our carbon footprint and reduce the amount of waste we send to landfills. By recycling items such as hair clippings, color tubes, foils, and excess chemicals, we're able to divert up to 95% of our salon waste from ending up in the trash. Properly disposing of and recycling salon waste ensures that harmful chemicals and pollutants don't end up in our waterways or harm the environment.
At Salt + Sun we rinse responsibly using ECO HEADS water filter - which is a filtration system that removes sediment, dirt and rust from the water. The signature stones in this shower head introduce negative ions, softening the hair and introducing moisture.
Be Friendly
Our product line, Maria Nila does not believe animals should be part of human vanity, which is why all products are 100% vegan and come in CO₂ compensated packaging. Beyond this, they also work with Plan Vivo to climate compensate for the total emissions of CO₂ from our entire operation. This initiative has since 2016 contributed to the planting of 280 000 m² of forest in Nicaragua.
The philosophy of choosing friendly does not stop at their products, they also care for the world around us. Every year on World Vegan Day on November 1st, they start a Friendly Year – a year of campaigns and activities to raise donations to a specific wildlife cause. The project is run together with a trusted wildlife charity organization The Perfect World Foundation, that supports and works to save animals and nature. The Friendly Year initiative has supported several charities and causes across the world.
